Lime Paint

Product Description

Non toxic / Zero VOC

100% natural mineral-based walls and ceilings paint for decoration of interior and exterior surfaces of new and historical buildings. Durable, mold & mildew resistant wall finish.

Olivetti lime paint is untinted so the color options are limitless. To keep the paint zero VOC when tinting, use a zero VOC colorant.

Olivetti mineral lime paint can be left matte or burnished to a shine.  It can go over water-based primed or plaster walls, concrete walls, or Olivetti prep coat. Float walls to level five for a sleek look or float them creating skipping actions for a more rustic look.

COVERAGE:One gallon will cover approximately 350 square feet, depending on porosity of surface.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Restore and repair walls. Walls may be left with texture and defects for an older looking, distressed finish. Prime with Olivetti primer or your choice of any water based primer. Paint may be applied directly over plaster surfaces or walls covered with joint compound.

TINTING AND APPLICATION: Tint paint with universal tints or dissolved pigments. The maximum amount of pigment that can be added is 10 percent of the total volume of lime paint. Apply one coat of product with a lime paint brush or tool of choice for desired effect. Allow 24 hours drying time. Apply second coat with tool of choice. The second coat does not necessarily need to evenly or entirely cover the first coat.  The second and third coats may be applied with a brush using a lighter touch than the first coat. For more color variation,  alter your color recipe on the last coat by adding a little more untinted product, or by adding a little more additionally dispersed pigment, to create a variation on a shade.

POLISHING: On smooth walls, finishes may be polished with a broken in extra fine sanding sponge, a stainless steel burnishing trowel and or a clean T-shirt cloth, depending on the degree of polish desired. To polish, Olivetti recommends two coats of lime paint over Olivetti primer or your choice of any water based primer, and a minimum of two coats over joint compound. Apply Olivetti Sealer for high traffic areas or for washability. Olivetti lime paint is not recommended for surfaces in direct contact with water, oils and or chemicals.

BURNISHING: Burnishing will warm up the color of the lime paint, create more mottling and add sheen when viewed at an angle.  Walls will have a beautiful glow to them.  If you would like more sheen, burnish with the right edge of the burnishing trowel.  Trowel is held at about a 30 degree angle and never flat to the wall.  Move right blade across the wall in one direction.  You should have a minimum of two coats of lime pant before burnishing.

NOTE: Do not apply when surface or ambient temperature is below 41 degrees Fahrenheit or above 93 degrees Fahrenheit.

DRYING TIME: Allow to dry for 24 hours between coats.

CLEANUP: Immediately after use with hot, soapy water.

STORAGE: Keep tightly sealed. Store at room temperature. Do not store outside. Protect from freezing. Rotate stock every 90 days.

OPENING: Cut through slots on lid. Pry lid up at slots. To close, snap lid down firmly. Mix with a drill before decanting or use.

CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children. Do not take internally. Wear protective gloves and eyewear during application.
